Swedish developer and publisher Paradox Interactive has announcedRunemaster, coming soon to PC and PlayStation 4. The game is a strategic fantasy RPG, featuring a heavy influence from Norse mythology. The game is the first RPG developed by the studio, which is more widely known for its grand strategy series such as Hears of Iron and Crusader Kings. Players will be able to create a male or female character from six races before being tossed into the worlds of Jotunheim, Midgard, etc. The game will feature randomly generated worlds and quests, as players work to either prevent Ragnarok or hasten its arrival. Some initial screenshots and the Gamescom trailer for the title can be viewed below. |

"Eu entendo que um novo jogo está sendo esperado há muito tempo. Nós não dissemos que 'a série Wild Arms está acabada', porque não temos qualquer intenção de parar. Eventualmente, queremos trazê-la de volta de alguma forma. Se possível, gostaria de fazer um anúncio assim que surgir uma oportunidade, por isso espero que vocês sejam pacientes."
Koei Temco's dark action RPG, Ni-Oh, appeared at Sony's pre-TGS press conference, and the company used a stage event at the show itself to provide the first details and screenshots of the game. The game's protagonist, William, can use multiple weapons, such as swords and spears, with different weapons having advantage for different situations. For example, spears have a wide range that can be useful to hit multiple opponents, but are unsuited for close-quarters combat. The game also has an online feature called Chinokata Dzuka, or Bloody Sword Mound. Players will come upon a small mound indicating that another player died at that spot. If the player touches the mound, a remnant of the deceased will appear and will battle the player. Players will be able to see the level and cause of death for the mounds before deciding whether to activate them, with victory in the ensuing battle potentially rewarding the player with useful items. Aiding William in his battles are guardian spirits, which can be used to unleash powerful abilities, including healing and special attacks. If William dies, his guardian spirit remains in that location and players will need to recover the spirit before it can be used again. Spirits can be switched at various shrines in the game. Ni-Oh was originally announced in 2004, with no mention of the game for a number of years until this month. The game will be released in Japan in 2016 for PlayStation 4. |
